Frequently Asked Questions
Is there any negative marking in the Delhi High Court JJA exam?
Yes. In the Stage-I (Preliminary) exam, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. However, there is no negative marking in the Stage-II Descriptive exam.
What are the passing marks for the Typing Test (Stage-III)?
The typing test is qualifying in nature. You must achieve a minimum speed of 35 Words Per Minute (WPM) on a computer. A maximum of 3% errors is generally allowed; exceeding this will lead to disqualification.
What subjects are covered in the Stage-II Descriptive Exam?
The Descriptive exam (100 Marks) covers: Essay Writing: (250 words) – 40 Marks Letter Writing: 10 Marks Grammar & Translation: 50 Marks (English to Hindi & vice versa).
Will the exam be conducted in Hindi or English?
The Preliminary Examination (Stage-I) will be conducted in English language only. There is no option for Hindi medium in the JJA/Restorer objective test.
How many candidates are called for the Main (Descriptive) Exam?
As per the official notification, candidates numbering 15 times the total number of advertised vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for the Stage-II (Main) Examination based on their Prelims score.
